What is UP with the short presale notices!?!

Doug and I have been still in the "discussion" stage about whether we were going to road trip to either Philly or NY (actually NJ, I guess) next July for the next North American leg of the 360 Tour, since it didn't appear that they were coming back down anywhere near HERE next summer (so much for BofA Stadium in Charlotte, I guess).

I was driving back down to his neck of the woods this coming weekend to see Star Wars in Concert, and we figured we'd work out all the nitty gritties about what we wanted to do then, so we'd be ready when U2.com gave the word about the presales.

HA! Got not one but TWO emails from U2.com tonight, telling me that the NY/NJ presale is tomorrow morning already.

So never mind that it's after 11pm, and I'm adverse to calling people that late, but I get on the phone and call Doug ASAP. Fortunately he's watching the Phillies beat the Yankees to force another World Series game on Wednesday, so he's still up.

And just like that we worked out where we want to sit, and how much we want to pay (no $250 seats this time! And no GA either, as much as I'd have loved to do that again. But it'll be the middle of July, in NY. I'd keel over from the heat before they even started letting people in.)

Now it's just a matter of putting on my Ticket Queen crown one more time to see if I can't work a little of that ticket mojo again tomorrow morning.

If so, looks like a road trip to NY this summer. Weeeee!

I think the pre-sales should have been after Christmas . I'm still jet lagged after 24 shows and have had no time to save yet

Thanks, y'all. I'm keeping all fingers crossed that nothing goes haywire since I'm having to get these while at work again.

Martin, if you don't mind me asking, and if you do, then never mind, I'm just being really nosy , but between ticket sales and travel costs, how much did all of those 24 shows cost you total, ballpark figure?

Just the two shows I hit this year put me WAAYY over my concert budget limits, between ticket costs and airfare, so I can only imagine how much it cost you.

But... that's why PLASTIC was invented, lol.

But yeah, I just can't see the point in having presales (not to mention regular sales) more than 7-8 months before the concert like this. And then to give us NO real warning when the presale is going to be, other than sending out emails the night before. How the heck does one plan properly for something like that. Grrrr.

Doug was very surprised to hear from me again that late at night last night (I did the same thing for Star Wars in Concert a few weeks ago). LOL. But we worked it out, and now I just hope that the presale goes as planned this morning.

Whew! Being the Ticket Queen is STRESSFUL sometimes! "My heart is racing, I can't keep up."

But after hopping back and forth between browsers and playing chicken with the countdown timers at Ticketmaster for nearly a half hour, got a pair of $95 reserved seats about 10 rows back behind the red zone on Adam's side. Hopefully they're a good compromise between sideline and behind the stage, which is where we talked about sitting for this one last night. Hope I got the right ones. Gave up 113 sideline at the 50 yard line for them.

In any case, looks like I'm going to New Yawk next summer, y'all! Woot! :)

I guess my tickets , flights , hotels , 10 shirts , food and drink have cost me about $12,000 . Most of my tickets were bought in line at face value or less .
I flew home after Tampa and decided to return so that added to my costs . So i had 2 round trips , internal flights and Greyhound buss's and cabs in the U.S , flights to Barcelona and Dublin included .

Ooh well , i'll still do it next year

Also , i gave my tickets for Gothenburg and Vancouver up

Holy crap. I figured you were the super-duper-uberfan, but wow... just wow. And to think you allowed me to actually HUG you in Foxboro! I wasn't WORTHY!

Still think having mild mannered Oakland going on presale at the same time as exotic Istanbul is kind of funny...

Man, I'm going to NY next summer. Wow. Of course NOW that we have tickets for that, they'll announce something closer in another week or two. Which means I'll just have to renew and get another 4 presale codes and go again. :)

I decided to let 4 of my U2.com memberships lapse and just kept one . I got 4 tickets for Paris . I've learnt it don't pay to hold them and buy them in line . I bought 10 of my 14 U.S shows in line at face value or less . It's the flying between shows that add up .

I've seen 84 shows now so need 16 from the next 2 legs . The U.K isn't announced yet
